I'm generally out of the loop as far as video game news goes (because anime is really my one true love in terms of Japanese entertainment exports) but I caught wind of this game a couple of days ago and got a glimpse of the trailer, which is truly impressive. I'm a big fan of Studio 4°C because they almost always take on unique projects and offer up non-standard and interesting visuals, from the fantasy world of Tweeny Witches, to the feverish hallucinations of Tekkonkinkreet, to the COMPLETE AND UTTER AWESOMENESS of Detroit Metal City.
The Japanese video game magazine Famitsu is streaming the trailer here (note: some scenes are erotic and might not be appropriate for work). Or, check out the Youtube version after the break:

I saw this trailer and I'm REALLY intrigued by the game. I hope the game itself is as mind-screwy as the trailer. I seriously can hardly wait. If you get it first, you'd better believe I'm gonna be all up ins.
I think Eric and I decided that we're going to pre-order the game if/when it becomes available to do so in the U.S. According to him, this game company (Atlus) tends to have very limited runs in the 'States, so we figured that it would be better to keep an eye on reviews and jump on it right away. So of course you're welcome to come watch/play it if that happens :)
"Mind Game" is the ultimate never-released-here Studio 4°C product. Shame on Go Fish for licensing it and not putting it out on video, but instead sticking it into theaters for a barely-noticed run.
I hear you there, I really want to see it (I've actually sent the suggestion along to an upcoming local Japanese film festival to try and show it). Does the Japanese release of the film have English subs on it?
Yes, the Japanese release is subbed (excellently) in English. Be prepared to pay through the nose for it, though.
That's what birthdays and Winter holidays are for ;)
