Japan will make an ero-game out of anything, it seems – this story and it’s anime adaptation are taken from the famous Chinese Novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
Episode Summary
A mysterious black-haired beauty named Kan’u is out to hunt down bandits. When she gets into town, she’s rushed by a “bandit” group – a bunch of kids led by a girl named Ling Ling. Ling Ling lives by herself since her parents and grandfather have died. Kan’u remembers back to her own childhood and the bandits that attacked her village. The next day, she finds that officials from the town intend to arrest Ling Ling, so Kan’u offers her services instead. On her way up she’s attacked by members of Ling Ling’s gang, who she abuses for a little while.
Kan’u arrives at the hideout to face Ling Ling, whose formal name is Chouhi. They duke it out into the night, and Kan’u laments the fact that Chouhi seems to have so much power but chooses to misuse it. In reality, she’s just a lonely little girl and ends up crying mid-battle. Kan’u just asks her to apologize to the villagers and leave them alone. Then Kan’u stays the night and Chouhi admires her gigantic breasts. They decide to travel together and Chouhi leaves her criminal life behind.
Thoughts
There are times where I’d like to be able to find a decent dating-sim anime to be able to suggest to others. Sadly, I still haven’t found one yet. While this show does provide the service of eliminating the useless male protagonist found in so many others of its ilk, there’s still a huge variety of uncommonly-endowed beauties and annoying lolis from which to pick, so there’s nothing really different to see here. This show does back up the theory that the Japanese can put cute girls into almost anything, though. Even famous Chines novels with long, illustrious histories. I really have to note though that this show wasted no time in including a nudie bath scene between the two girls. While non-sexual in nature, it’s nice to see that Kan’u’s breasts are already developing as characters in their own right.
The character designs are, well, characteristically annoying, with breasts that appear to be bolted on to the chests of the fair maidens possessing them, hairstyles of various colors and gravitational impossibilities, and completely stupid costumes that would really not be practical for any sort of real battle. Yes, I know we’re going for fantasy fulfillment here, but I can only suspend my belief so far. Or, I suppose I should say that I’m only willing to suspend my belief to a certain point for a show which provides me little to no personal satisfaction in watching it. The icing on the cake, though, is Chouhi’s hair clip – a little tiger face that mirrors the expression on her face, whether she’s happy, winking, or crying. Oh how cute.

The Animation is average to a fault, though I have to give the show props for properly animating the fight sequence between Kan’u and Chouhi. Otherwise the show actually appears kind of, I don’t know, old. Or maybe it’s the fact that the visuals focus so much on how the girls look that the backgrounds and special effects seem completely ignored. Not that special effects are entirely necessary to a production based on this subject matter, but I think I could convince someone that this show came out five years ago and not get much of an argument out of them.
Overall this show is completely blah and uninspired. Boobs, babes and battles but not much else make this one to pass up and ignore
Pros
- Didn’t make me want to actually hurt anyone
Cons
- Breasts are back-breaking
- There’s already been a bath scene – not a good omen
- Animation is completely blah
